About The Position

This position serves as the primary point of contact for all preconstruction efforts within the organization. Responsibilities range from initial contact with GC for scope/schedule information, coordinating with other estimators and project teams, reaching out to subs/vendors for pricing, building and reviewing final estimates, creating bid forms and scope letters for final submittments, and maintaining progress status of all projects that the organization is pursuing. Requirements

• High School diploma and at least 2 years of estimating experience
• Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills
• Ability to balance and prioritize workload amongst several different projects at one time
• Exhibits innovative and creative ways to continuously cut costs off estimates
• Attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, and exhibits discipline day in and day out
• Breaks down problems into smaller components, understands underlying issues, can simplify and process complex issues, understands the difference between critical details and unimportant facts.

Responsibilities

• Reviews data and drawings to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists of cost estimates
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, change order pricing, vendors or subcontractors agreement, and determining cost effectiveness
• Consults with customers, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates
• Interaction with subcontractors to help maintain bid list and contact information
• Serves as the main point of contact for all preconstruction efforts, pursuing new opportunities for the organization
• Reaches out in a “precon” manner to the estimating and project teams to facilitate projects being awarded
