About The Position

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Steam/Sprinkler Fitter (Bargaining Unit, Local No. 25). This role is crucial for maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. Requirements

3 - 5 years experience in maintenance, repair and testing of low and high pressure steam, high temperature hot water and fire protection systems required.
Massachusetts Journeyman Pipe Fitters license required.
Knowledge of steam plant operations and systems.
Working knowledge of low- and high-pressure steam piping systems, high-temperature hot water piping systems, and valve maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain steam, hot water, piping, and fire protection systems to support safe and reliable operations.
Assess equipment and system issues, implement effective solutions, and coordinate with supervisors when additional resources or expertise are required.
Inspect, test, and document operating systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and long-term system performance.
Provide responsive customer service and maintain professional communication with internal stakeholders, external partners, and public safety agencies as needed.
