This position reports directly to the Second/Third Class Power Plant Engineer and is responsible for operating power plant boilers and associated equipment in a combined heat and power system. The role involves maintaining appropriate logs and records, performing boiler water treatment, and repairing, overhauling, and maintaining power plant machinery and equipment. The Steam Fireman also prepares high pressure boilers for inspection, maintains clean work areas, and complies with all Complex health, safety, and security procedures. This is a Civil Service position. Salaries for union positions are determined according to the respective collective bargaining agreement. Applicants must not have felony convictions as defined by federal law.
