Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest (GIPNW) is seeking Summer Camp Facilitators for our Eureka! STEM program, in Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR. Girls Inc. is a non-profit organization whose gender-specific and research-based programming is focused on equipping girls with the tools necessary to lead healthy, academically successful, and economically-independent lives. The Eureka! Summer Facilitator will create and implement a positive and safe environment for Eurekans to continue to become strong, smart and bold adults. They will facilitate curriculum-based activities and discussions designed to increase STEAM knowledge, strengthen self-confidence, and cultivate communication and other interpersonal skills. This position will facilitate a 2 week STEAM camp at two of our local college campuses – in Vancouver, WA the college site will be located at Clark College, and in Portland, OR the college site will be Portland State University. Eureka! is a five year program that brings youth, including many who will be first generation college applicants, onto local college and university campuses for an intensive summer program. Eureka utilizes STEAM and youth empowerment curriculum to engage 8th - 12th grade girls as an important part of the workforce of the future. During the Eureka! program, girls get to participate in a variety of hands-on, exciting, and compelling activities that explore STEAM at college campuses. With complementary activities in sports and physical fitness, healthy living, and financial literacy, Eureka! fully fosters educational, professional, and personal development. Girls Inc.
