About The Position

Founded in 1971, Colorado Springs Christian Schools (CSCS) is one of Colorado’s leading Christian educational schools for grades K-12. CSCS is a private, non-denominational school accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). CSCS exists to provide an excellent education from a Christ-centered, biblical perspective for lifelong service. The STEAM Teacher is responsible for implementing engaging, hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics for elementary and/or middle school students. This role leads classroom instruction, manages student behavior, ensures safety, and fosters an environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and Christ-like character.

Requirements

Experience working with children (required)
Teaching experience or related background in education preferred
Strong classroom management skills
Organized, proactive, and self-motivated
Strong communication and leadership skills
Willingness to complete required training including CPR certification, basic first aid, child abuse awareness, emergency procedures, and standard precautions

Nice To Haves

Experience in education or youth leadership
Background in STEM/STEAM fields
Robotics, coding, engineering design, or project-based learning experience
Experience with youth camps, enrichment programs, or after-school programs
Ability to adapt curriculum for multiple grade levels
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable or other background demonstrating application of the qualifications and skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement age-appropriate STEAM curriculum and activities
Lead hands-on, project-based learning experiences
Create a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment
Supervise students during instruction, recess, lunch, and field trips
Integrate biblical worldview principles into STEAM instruction
Collaborate and supervise aides
Communicate professionally with parents as needed
Prepare materials and maintain organization of STEAM supplies and equipment
Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
Ensure compliance with all CSCS safety policies and procedures
Model servant leadership and Christ-centered character at all times
Commits and fully supports the missional and organizational standards including our Core Values, Mission Statement and Doctrinal Statement, and Statement of Faith and Christian Beliefs
Other duties as assigned
