About The Position

Provide friendly, prompt and courteous food and/or beverage refreshment service to racetrack and casino guests in designated areas.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Proficient in English verbal and written.
High School Diploma/ GED or one to three months related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
Must be comfortable initiating conversations and a fun environment for guests.
Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays if applicable.
Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds (ex. carrying silverware to front counter).
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively.
Specific vision abilities such as close, distance, color, depth and ability to adjust focus.
Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period.
Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period.
Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
Ability to speak effectively before a group of customers or employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Promote a positive influence in the company and company sponsored events.
Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.

Responsibilities

Take orders from customers.
Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
Writes order on paper or memorizes it.
Relays order to kitchen or bar and/or serves courses or drinks from the bar and or kitchen and service bars.
Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
Totals bill and accept payment.
Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
Follows prescribed sanitary safeguards in handling all food and cleaning all surfaces.
Checks out with immediate supervisor.
Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.
Other duties as assigned.
