About The Position

Performs statistical data analysis requiring sound understanding of statistics. Develops/uses statistical analysis methods to help operating groups improve processes and to help managing groups identify targets for improvement or make data-based decisions. Interfaces with technical and operations personnel to evaluate operational methods, systems, processes, and new process development activities. Provides statistical methods to assess the performance of operations and to make recommendations on operational changes to improve performance and reduce variability. Plans, schedules and conducts statistical analysis requiring standard or novel applications of statistical principles and theory. Advises managers on the significance of trends and other matters related to making operational decisions. Prepares written summaries of technical reports and process reports. Makes oral presentations on results of work. Interfaces with technical staff or management from customer sites to review the significance of joint projects and plans. May serve as a lead in recommending approaches for sampling, in evaluating the significance of collected data for decision-making, in suggesting considerations for system modeling, and in designing experiments to incorporate new technology. Often provides guidance to less experienced technical support employees.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/mathematics discipline with 2 years relevant experience.
Minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA OR a Master's degree in engineering/physical science discipline with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA OR a PhD in an engineering/physical science discipline with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
There is a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement up to 4 years post-graduation at time of offer and confirmed by transcript.
Beyond four years from graduation, engineering experience will supersede GPA as a requirement for hire.
Typical engineering/science experience ranging from 3 to 7 years.
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
This position may be categorized as a “designated position” identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709, requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
