About The Position

The Statistical and Research Analyst II will enter/manage data in the Endocrine Surgery clinical databases, assist in drafting/submission of clinical research protocols (to Protocol Review Committee/IRB/etc), assist in data analysis, and assist in drafting/writing/submission of abstracts/manuscripts/grants. The incumbent must be able to work independently or with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and two years work experience as a Statistical and Research Analyst I.
  • Ability to perform job functions in an upright position.

  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected.

  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors.
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.

  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or clinical research preferred.
  • A master’s degree would be helpful.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software (SATA, SPSS, SAS, etc).
  • A bachelor's degree with mathematics and/or statistics courses may be substituted for the required work experience.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes.
  • Ability to work in confined/cramped spaces.
  • Ability to perform job functions from kneeling positions.
  • Ability to squat and perform job functions.
  • Ability to perform 'pinching' operations.
  • Ability to work in dusty areas.

Responsibilities

  • Collect/enter data into Endocrine Surgery clinical databases.
  • Assist with clinical studies, which are sporadic and limited, including testing of new systems to be used intraoperatively.
  • Assist in drafting/submission/maintenance of clinical research protocols: applications to MUSC Protocol Review Committee (PRC) and MUSC IRB, PRC and IRB progress reports and renewals, and others as needed.
  • Update and maintain IRB protocols and research databases.
  • Assistance with data analysis for clinical research projects.
  • Assistance with drafting/writing/submission of abstracts/manuscripts/grants for clinical research projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
