About The Position

This is a 3rd shift position with core hours of 10 PM - 6:15 AM. The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the operation of plant equipment including boilers, compressors, and chillers. This role involves managing plant equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and performing project work to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant and the safety of employees. The position requires the ability to work overtime, including varying start and end times and weekends, depending on business needs.

Requirements

Knowledge of applicable safety requirements
Ability to comprehend, speak, read, and write in English
Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force on occasion
Ability to work in standard manufacturing environment
At least 1 year of technical education
Valid State First Grade Stationary Engineer license required
City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License required
Minimum 3 years of experience operating large steam, chiller, refrigeration plant or similar setting

Responsibilities

Assure implementation of an equipment management plan for boilers, compressors, chillers, and other assigned equipment
Maintain boilers and related equipment to assure operation according to manufacturer specification
Observe pressure/temperature gauges and panel view screens to verify specified operation automatic combustion control systems, feed water regulators, and burners
Make minor repairs as needed, reporting any major problems to supervisor
Test and treat water boiler feed water using specified chemicals; maintain a log of water test results
Enter work order information into MMS system (SAP)
Follow safety regulations and maintain compliances of GMPs and safety standards; ensure adherence with applicable regulations and food safety requirements
