Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two or more years of experience in power plant, chilled water plant, or utility operations

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school training in HVAC or boiler operations
  • Boiler Operator certification
  • One or more years of experience operating chillers
  • One or more years of commercial experience performing maintenance and repair of HVAC and chiller equipment
  • One or more years of experience monitoring, testing, and adjusting chemical input for boiler water feed

Responsibilities

  • Perform and help facilitate completion of preventive and corrective maintenance for all power plant equipment
  • Coordinate all utility operations while on shift
  • Operate, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, pumps, and deionized water production trains
  • Utilize the Utility Monitoring System to monitor, control, and trend performance of plant equipment
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders
  • Provide back‑up assistance for Wastewater Treatment Plant operations
  • Perform water chemistry laboratory analysis on plant systems and maintain chemical parameters
  • Investigate abnormal facility conditions as needed after hours
  • Follow all SOPs and maintain a safe working environment
  • Interact professionally with facility staff and customers
  • Assist the Utilities Supervisor
  • Work with potentially hazardous substances as required
  • Climb ladders and work in confined spaces as needed
  • Work in environments with exposure to greases, oil, solvents, additives, and live steam
