Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Two or more years of experience in power plant, chilled water plant, or utility operations

Nice To Haves

Trade school training in HVAC or boiler operations
Boiler Operator certification
One or more years of experience operating chillers
One or more years of commercial experience performing maintenance and repair of HVAC and chiller equipment
One or more years of experience monitoring, testing, and adjusting chemical input for boiler water feed

Responsibilities

Perform and help facilitate completion of preventive and corrective maintenance for all power plant equipment
Coordinate all utility operations while on shift
Operate, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, pumps, and deionized water production trains
Utilize the Utility Monitoring System to monitor, control, and trend performance of plant equipment
Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders
Provide back‑up assistance for Wastewater Treatment Plant operations
Perform water chemistry laboratory analysis on plant systems and maintain chemical parameters
Investigate abnormal facility conditions as needed after hours
Follow all SOPs and maintain a safe working environment
Interact professionally with facility staff and customers
Assist the Utilities Supervisor
Work with potentially hazardous substances as required
Climb ladders and work in confined spaces as needed
Work in environments with exposure to greases, oil, solvents, additives, and live steam
