This position operates all campus heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, including boilers, steam absorption and centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, fans, pumps, and systems. The role involves maintaining accurate records and reports, utilizing Building Automation Systems (BAS) for monitoring and control, and responding to alarms. Advanced skills are required for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, and executing repairs with minimal impact. The role also includes knowledge of medical gas systems, responding to occupant complaints, performing routine general maintenance, and reading blueprints. The Stationary Engineer Lead will also lead small projects, assist with contractor oversight, and act as an informal resource for less experienced peers.
