About The Position

Maintains facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and systems, and repairs or replaces equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation. Under general direction, inspects, installs, repairs, and replaces pipes, fittings, and equipment used in the hospital’s heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. The role also installs system components such as filters, valves, thermostats, and building automation system components; assists the Director with expansion and renovation planning and forecasting operating budgets and capital needs; and performs related HVAC maintenance, service, repair, testing, inspection, installation, and inventory work. Other related duties may be assigned based on management discretion, preparation and training, and departmental needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience working for an HVAC/air conditioning company or a mechanical contractor.
• Certified HVAC Technician.

• Graduate of a trade or vocational school in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings, and equipment for the hospital’s heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
• Install new system components, including filters, valves, thermostats, and building automation system components.
• Assist the Director with planning expansion and renovation projects and forecasting operating budget and capital needs.
• Maintain, service, repair, test, inspect, and install HVAC systems and components.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Perform other related duties as required and consistent with the required preparation, training, and department needs.
