About The Position

The Stationary Engineer maintains, operates, monitors, and repairs utilities and related central plant equipment, and responds to maintenance requests from hospitals, clinics, and supporting facilities. The role helps keep the central plant clean and in good working condition, performs preventive maintenance, schedules and completes corrective maintenance in a timely and professional manner, and documents activities and maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with water treatment for heating and cooling systems to protect water and steam piping and system integrity.
• Experience using HVAC/temperature controls, Energy Management Systems, and computer operations to maintain building temperature comfort levels.
• OSHA Basic and NFPA70E.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under stressful conditions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of the industry and the Company's competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary.

• Associate degree in Operating Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone requests professionally, identify the caller's department, and resolve requests.
• Complete preventive maintenance and work requests promptly using the proper work order form.
• Visually inspect and adjust power plant equipment to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot engineering equipment and systems according to manufacturers' recommended maintenance and operating parameters.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain the Energy Management System, adjusting heating and cooling schedules based on building loads.
• Conduct building rounds and equipment inspections, enter round-sheet data, and report problems to a supervisor.
• Maintain central plant equipment in clean, good working condition and document maintenance activities.
