Perform all types of work involved in the construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, operation, testing and inspection of energized or de-energized generation, transmission and distribution facilities. Assist in responding to emergency call-outs on station trouble and coordinating prompt restoration of service to customers as required. This role involves working on energized equipment up to 260 volts, and after six months, assisting with work on conductors and equipment energized at voltages above 750 volts with direct supervision. The position requires selecting proper prints and/or drawings, using various test equipment, and assisting in the maintenance and repair of station transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical equipment. Responsibilities also include installing conduit, pipe, cable, and wire, digging trenches, climbing station structures, and applying various insulating materials. The role involves making visual inspections, reading gauges, performing start-run-stop tests on generators and pumps, reporting abnormal conditions, and replacing lamps, switches, and outlets. Additionally, the Station Electrician will assist in electrical tests, station switching, checking equipment clearances, and placing grounds. Proficiency in steel and aerial lift rescue, maintaining records, preparing reports, attending and assisting in training, and operating company vehicles and specialized equipment are also key aspects of the job. The position requires knowledge and use of various knots and performing similar or less skilled work as assigned. Employees may direct the work of others and must become familiar with the Company's safety rules and practices, including resuscitation and First Aid.
