Perform all types of work involved in the construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, operation, testing and inspection of energized or de-energized generation, transmission and distribution facilities. Assist in responding to emergency call-outs on station trouble and coordinating prompt restoration of service to customers as required. This role involves working on energized equipment up to 260 volts, and after six months, assisting with work on conductors and equipment energized at voltages above 750 volts with direct supervision. The position requires selecting and understanding proper prints and drawings, using various test equipment, and assisting in the maintenance and repair of station transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical equipment. Responsibilities also include installing conduit, pipe, cable, and wire, digging trenches, climbing station structures, and applying insulating materials. The role involves making visual inspections, reading gauges, applying tests on emergency generators and pumps, replacing lamps and switches, and installing/maintaining signal and communication systems. Additionally, the Station Electrician will assist in electrical tests, station switching, checking equipment clearances, placing grounds, and performing steel and aerial lift rescues. Maintaining records, preparing reports, attending and assisting in training, and operating company vehicles and specialized equipment are also key duties. The position requires adherence to safety rules and operating regulations.
