Perform all types of work involved in the construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, operation, testing and inspection of energized or de-energized generation, transmission and distribution facilities. Assist in responding to emergency call-outs on station trouble and coordinating prompt restoration of service to customers as required. This role involves working on energized equipment up to 260 volts, and after six months, assisting with work on conductors and equipment energized at voltages above 750 volts with direct supervision. The position requires selecting and understanding proper prints and drawings, using various test equipment, and assisting with the maintenance and repair of station equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and rotating machinery. Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining station batteries, assisting with electrical installations like conduit and cable, and performing general station work such as digging trenches and painting structures. The role involves using various tapes, insulating materials, and paints, and understanding their proper application. Additionally, the position requires assisting in visual inspections, reading gauges, applying start-run-stop tests on various equipment, reporting abnormal conditions, and assisting with electrical tests and station switching. Knowledge of steel and aerial lift rescue, maintaining records, preparing reports, and participating in training are also key aspects. The employee will use and operate various company vehicles and specialized equipment, including cranes and aerial lifts, and perform duties incidental to their operation. This role also includes inspecting and storing personal protective equipment, using various knots, and performing similar or less skilled work as assigned. The employee will assist higher-classified employees and direct the work of those assigned to assist. A strong understanding of the Company's safety rules, resuscitation, and First Aid is essential, along with performing duties in accordance with safety rules and operating regulations.
