Perform all types of work involved in the construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, operation, testing and inspection of energized or de-energized generation, transmission and distribution facilities. Assist in responding to emergency call-outs on station trouble and coordinating prompt restoration of service to customers as required. This role involves working on energized equipment up to 260 volts, and after six months, assisting with work on conductors and equipment energized at voltages above 750 volts with direct supervision. The position requires selecting proper prints and/or drawings, using various test equipment, and assisting in the maintenance and repair of station equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and rotating machinery. Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining station batteries, assisting with station work like installing conduit, pipe, cable, and wire, digging trenches, and climbing station structures. The role involves using insulating materials, performing visual inspections, reading gauges, applying start-run-stop tests on emergency generators and pumps, and replacing lamps, switches, and outlets. Additionally, the Station Electrician will assist in electrical tests, station switching, checking equipment clearances, making de-energized tests, and placing grounds. Knowledge of steel and aerial lift rescue, maintaining records, preparing reports, and participating in training are also key aspects of the job. The employee will use and operate various company vehicles, specialized equipment, and hand and power tools, including cranes and aerial lifts. The position also requires knowledge and use of various knots used in station work and performing similar or less skilled work as assigned. The employee will assist employees of equal or higher classification and direct the work of employees assigned to assist. A strong understanding of the Company's safety rules, resuscitation, and First Aid is essential, along with performing duties in accordance with safety rules and operating regulations.
