About The Position

The Executive II position serves as a statewide payroll and timekeeping analyst for the department. This individual will build, review and validate employee timesheets, conduct and participate in audits, and assist with system upgrades, testing and configuration changes related to payroll and timekeeping applications. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration, accounting, human resources, or a related field.
  • Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience working with payroll and timekeeping data.
  • Requires two (2) years of advanced experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, VBA, Microsoft Access, and SharePoint, including using formulas, lookups, and data analysis tools.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers at least two (2) years of advanced experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, VBA, Microsoft Access, and SharePoint, including using formulas, lookups, and data analysis tools.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience building user forms and reporting dashboards by integrating Microsoft Access with Excel and external data sources.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience developing audit tracking tools and exception reporting systems and implementing data validation and compliance controls.
  • Prefers ability to interpret policies, labor agreements, and pay rules.

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Payroll and Timekeeping Manager, serves as a statewide payroll and timekeeping analyst for the department.
  • Builds, reviews, and validates employee timesheets, ensuring correct application of pay rules, overtime, leave accruals, and differentials.
  • Conducts and participates in audits of payroll and timekeeping records.
  • Assists with system upgrades, testing, and configuration changes related to payroll and timekeeping applications.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
