About The Position

The Statewide Coordinator (SC) will provide face-to-face, online, and virtual training and technical assistance (TA) to families, service providers, and agency personnel to improve services and outcomes for children birth through 21 with deafblindness. This position will work alongside the Associate Director of the Center on Disabilities and Human Development to implement the goals and objectives of the Idaho Project for Children and Youth with Deaf-Blindness Grant (IPCYD). The IPCYD will partner with national and statewide disability agencies and programs to collaborate on federal and state disability activities, statutes, and policies.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in public education, teaching special education, providing state-level technical special education technical assistance focused on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C or Part B, or working for a State Deafblind Project funded through the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSEP) with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part D
  • Direct work with students with deafblindness
  • Direct work with students with low-incidence disabilities
  • Writing/supporting an Individual Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
