About The Position

Metro State University, a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, is seeking to hire community (adjunct) faculty for 4-credit courses in the Department of Computer Science and Cybersecurity, including ICS 225 Web Design and Implementation, ICS 232 Computer Organization and Architecture, ICS 311 Database Management Systems, ICS 365 Organization of Programming Languages, ICS 372 Object-Oriented Design and Implementation, and ICS 460 Networks and Security. The university aims to empower learners through relevant, student-centered education in an inclusive, anti-racist, and supportive environment, offering baccalaureate, masters, and applied doctoral degrees. The College of Sciences, which houses the Computer Science and Cybersecurity department, comprises three academic departments with 34 full-time faculty, 40 FTE part-time faculty, and 5.8 FTE full-time staff. The college offers 14 bachelor's, 3 graduate degree programs, and numerous minors and certificates.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree, or terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D, M.D.) in discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master’s degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master’s degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach, and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework or an equivalent amount of professional certification in the discipline or subfield in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach or 1 year of work experience and discipline-specific certification.
