State Univ Adjunct Unit - Computer Science and Cybersecurity
About The Position
Metro State University, a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, is seeking to hire a community (adjunct) faculty for 4-credit courses in the Department of Computer Science and Cybersecurity. The courses include ICS 225 Web Design and Implementation, ICS 232 Computer Organization and Architecture, ICS 311 Database Management Systems, ICS 365 Organization of Programming Languages, ICS 372 Object-Oriented Design and Implementation, and ICS 460 Networks and Security. The College of Sciences, where this position is located, comprises three academic departments (Computer Science and Cybersecurity, Natural Science, and Mathematics and Statistics) with 34 full-time faculty members and an additional 40 FTE of part-time teaching by part-time faculty members. The college offers 14 bachelor degree programs, 3 graduate degree programs, and numerous minors and certificates.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree, or terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D, M.D.) in discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
- A Master’s degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
- A Master’s degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
- A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach, and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework or an equivalent amount of professional certification in the discipline or subfield in which they teach.
- A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach or 1 year of work experience and discipline-specific certification.
