Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • State Tested Nurse Aide license or CNA Certificate
  • A compassionate, team player, and have passion to work with the elderly!

Responsibilities

  • Prepares each resident for the day and/or night by assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting, and activities of daily living
  • Obtains resident vital signs in accordance with departmental policy; reads and accurately records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight
  • Promptly and accurately documents all required resident information in the medical record
  • Responds to resident call lights and other types of requests for assistance in a timely manner.
  • Addresses resident toileting needs and incontinence issues in accordance with state and federal regulations and infection control procedures.
  • Provides restorative care and assists non-ambulatory residents with range of motion exercises in accordance with the care plan.
  • Passes fresh ice water and nourishments to residents within required time frames.
  • Immediately reports any unusual symptoms, changes, accidents, and/or injuries to the DON or Nursing Supervisor
  • Facilitate meal service for the residents: transport residents to the dining room; distribute correct meal tray to each resident; assist with feeding, as necessary; deliver meal trays to resident rooms, as required; remove trays from table, prepare and store meal trays for removal
  • Stocks and obtains necessary supplies and clean nursing equipment (e.g. bedpans, wheelchairs, etc.) in accordance with scheduled duties or as directed.
