About The Position

The State Pre-K Assistant Teacher instructs 4-year-old children according to each child’s needs and program requirements. The role supports children’s preparation for kindergarten and beyond by providing daily care, observing and assessing children, planning learning experiences, communicating with families, completing training on childcare and child development, and implementing curriculum through fun, interactive activities. The assistant teacher follows applicable licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements.

Requirements

• An associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or an active CDA in Preschool.
• Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
• Ability to meet state education requirements and center requirements.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
• Energetic, dependable, and passionate approach to the work.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for every child in the classroom while following licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements.
• Observe and assess children and plan for their needs.
• Communicate effectively with families.
• Complete training on childcare, preschool, and child development topics.
• Implement curriculum and create fun, interactive learning experiences for children.
• Engage in physical activity with children indoors or outdoors.
