About The Position

The State Pre-K Assistant Teacher instructs 4-year-old children according to each child’s needs and program requirements. The role supports children in preparing for Kindergarten and beyond by providing daily care, implementing curriculum, and creating fun, interactive learning experiences. The Assistant Teacher follows licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements; develops skills in observing, assessing, and planning for children; communicates with families; and completes training on child care, preschool, and child development.

Requirements

• An associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or an active CDA in Preschool.
• Experience in a licensed childcare center or a related field.
• Ability to meet state education requirements and center requirements.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Instruct 4-year-old children based on their individual needs and program requirements.
• Follow licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements to ensure daily care for every child in the classroom.
• Observe, assess, and plan for children.
• Communicate effectively with families.
