About The Position

Recidiviz is hiring a State Partnerships Manager to join their team. This role involves partnering closely with state correctional departments to safely and equitably reduce prison populations. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of skills from account management, product management, and political strategy, with the ability to captivate an audience, use data effectively, run productive meetings, and get things done. Rigor and levity are key attributes. Prior experience in criminal justice reform is not required, but a deep care for meaningful work is essential. Recidiviz builds technology to improve outcomes for justice-involved people, reduce incarceration, and help criminal justice leaders make data-driven decisions. They work collaboratively with criminal justice system leaders, justice-impacted individuals, and ecosystem partners. Requirements

  • Be a proactive problem solver, quick to address new problems.
  • Have an understanding of how to make progress in challenging environments with a successful track record of stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Bring experience working in or with state governments, knowing how to build trust and relationships quickly.
  • Be a process leader, excited about building replicable, clear processes internally and externally. Be a clear communicator and documentation wizard with a successful track record of managing cross-functional teams.
  • Be open-minded, humble, and curious, eager to learn and capable of active and empathetic listening.
  • Be comfortable with, and excited by, technology: eager to supportively guide data analysis and technology products, and work with a fast-moving team.
  • Experience in account management, product management, political strategy / lobbying, business development, policy, or similar role.
  • Willing and able to travel frequently (average 3-5 business days per month), including to correctional facilities.

  • Have a connection to the criminal justice system and/or passion for doing work that matters: lived or working experience with the operations and consequences of America's criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, deconstruct and document the needs of key correctional actors and justice-involved individuals
  • Build deep relationships with key stakeholders by making them feel heard and supported
  • Adapt and deploy Recidiviz core product offerings, and ad hoc data analysis capabilities to delight state partners
  • Communicate in clear writing what specific steps ought be taken by product managers, user experience designers, data analysts and implementation engineers for Recidiviz to support your state’s objectives
  • Drive partnerships towards success in terms of impact and financial sustainability
  • Self-regulation skills to effectively navigate high-intensity experiences with incarcerated individuals and correctional line staff in prison facilities and other challenging environments
