About The Position

The State Manager (Virginia) is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and cost management of ShawnTech’s Service Operations supporting the Virginia Department of Corrections. This role provides strategic direction and oversight for all field and administrative personnel to ensure contractual compliance, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable service delivery. The State Manager develops high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, continuous improvement, and effective communication while fostering a culture of safety, integrity, innovation, and customer service. In addition to statewide leadership responsibilities, the State Manager will be assigned a correctional facility and will perform the day-to-day responsibilities of a Tablet Administrator. This includes managing the inmate tablet program, supporting facility staff, ensuring service level agreements are met, coordinating repairs and replacements, maintaining inventory, and serving as the primary on-site operational contact. The State Manager is expected to balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational support while serving as a role model for the field team. Maintain regular on-site presence at the assigned facility to build strong relationships with Department of Corrections staff, monitor service quality, identify operational improvements, and provide immediate support for customer needs while ensuring statewide oversight responsibilities are effectively managed. Serve as the designated Tablet Administrator for an assigned correctional facility while fulfilling State Manager responsibilities. Perform all daily operational duties associated with the inmate tablet program, including device administration, troubleshooting, inventory management, work order completion, customer support, reporting, staff training, and ensuring compliance with all contractual and facility requirements.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years in a management role.
Proven track record in Operations.
Technical knowledge and experience required.
Experience managing operations in a correctional facility or for a government agency preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience is desirable.
PMP Certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform all tasks necessary to achieve the organization's vision by assisting the executive leadership team in developing and implementing strategic plans.
Lead, direct, and manage the field and administrative team members and operations of Shawntech to maximize revenue, lower cost to serve, and maximize customer satisfaction with P&L responsibility and accountability including budgetary management.
Establish and adhere to standard operating procedures, policies, and performance standards with reporting metrics for the Operations department.
Ensure that ShawnTech maintains contractual obligations and evaluates contract performance to ensure customer expectations meet contract guidelines.
Participates in the development plans for the new areas of technology in the marketplace along with sufficient planning for areas that support the mission of ShawnTech.
Implement improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization.
Work closely with all departments for continuous improvement of processes and systems.
Provide mentoring and guidance to all team members and other employees.
Monitor industry trends and adjust business models if needed.
Works with HR to ensure employee development, succession planning, technical training and required certifications are in place.
Participates with management to ensure the utilization of existing resources is optimized and future workforce planning is effective to meet the growing needs of the organization.
Other duties may be assigned as required to meet corporate goals.
