The Community Services Division (CSD) partners with local governments and community organizations to promote self-sufficiency, address crime and violence, and invest in community facilities. The Office of Firearm Safety and Violence Prevention (OFSVP), and Community Safety Unit (OFSVP/CSU) works to reduce and address the impact of crime and violence by partnering with various agencies and community members. OFSVP was established to provide statewide leadership and coordination to reduce preventable injuries and deaths from firearm violence. The Program Manager, under the supervision of the OFSVP Portfolio Manager, will lead federal Department of Justice programs including The Community-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI) and The State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP). Commerce is the State Administering Agency for Washington’s SCIP funds. The Program Manager will function as a specialist in Department of Justice grant administration, dealing with complex issues, contract negotiation, policy development, and compliance monitoring for federal funds.
