About The Position

The SPLC is seeking a State Community Organizer, Georgia State Office (East Georgia) who is passionate about social justice! The State Community Organizer builds and maintains relationships with community members, leaders, and partners. Identifies opportunities for community involvement and ways to support the Center's mission. They also engage allies in campaigns and advocacy efforts on a local and state level. This position will work from CSRA Region of Georgia 100% of the time, which includes but not limited to the following counties: Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Augusta-Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington Wilkes.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience organizing communities, building grassroots networks, and cultivating strong partnerships with community leaders and organizations.
Ability to move people from awareness to action through strategic outreach, leadership development, volunteer engagement, and advocacy campaigns.
Self-starter who thrives with autonomy, takes initiative, and consistently follows through.
Ability to establish short- and long-term goals, track progress, and continuously improve organizing strategies.
Values teamwork, recognizing that lasting community impact is built through strong relationships and shared leadership.
Comfortable navigating evolving priorities while keeping community voices at the center of your work with a deep commitment to empowering communities.
Demonstrates an understanding of and a commitment to SPLC's mission, vision and values.
Minimum 1 year of community organizing and 1 year working on campaigns and/or advocacy efforts
High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

Plan and organize projects and events; leads outreach and campaign activities, volunteer activities, mobilization efforts, and advocacy campaigns at local and state levels.
Promote community engagement, collaborates with ally organizations and activists, and works to build the power of community members and to support their priorities.
Plan for future work by SPLC and in collaboration with other partners.
Compile progress reports and community updates to stakeholders.
Perform research and develops tools and educational materials.
Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
