About The Position

The State Authorization Coordinator will initiate collaboration and consult with various departments, faculty, staff, and administrators to gather data, reports, documentation, and other information necessary for regulatory compliance, state applications, renewals, reports, and authorizations. Reporting to the Executive Director of Online Programs, the position directly supports online programs and students through the management of compliance related activities associated with state authorization. This includes applying to and obtaining new state authorizations, as well as tracking and maintaining existing exemptions and approvals. The position is tasked with meeting regulatory requirements, adhering to compliance mandates, and communicating compliance-related obligations, including the dissemination of disclosures to students related to state authorization and clinical placements and professional licensure. The position interacts with faculty, staff, academic units, and other departments across campus to provide consumer protection to prospective and current students, in accordance with the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) and associated federal regulations; collects data and develops methods to display relevant and necessary information on publicly viewable web sites; and leads institutional efforts in helping students understand possible career outcomes for their chosen degree, while also maintaining data about experiential field placements.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience : 1 year professional experience in compliance, state authorization, policy analysis, or another related field

  • Experience working with NC-SARA

Responsibilities

  • State Authorization Lead processes involving the collection and maintenance of data from academic departments and colleges on necessary reporting in compliance with NC-SARA guidelines
  • Develop and maintain procedures to collect and store information to streamline disclosure processes
  • Respond to inquiries from stakeholders regarding regulations and compliance procedures
  • Partner with academic departments to identify and share information and resources about state-specific licensure requirements
  • Create and implement a cycle for auditing data
  • Manage projects pertaining to the university’s requirement to meet NC-SARA and Department of Education standards
  • Ensure the university meets public disclosure and consumer information requirements associated with state authorization and federal regulations
  • Draft communications for various audiences, including students, faculty, staff, and other administrators
  • Through use of web tools, develop and maintain external-facing resources that display relevant data to prospective and current students
  • Pro-actively research on industry-specific licensure requirements and resources
  • Build and maintain database of external sites that support future research efforts
  • Monitor trends related to compliance efforts related to state licensure and field placements; make recommendations to senior leadership
