RSM is seeking an experienced, energetic, and self-motivated state and local tax specialist to join our dynamic, collaborative and expanding SALT team. RSM’s collaborative and entrepreneurial culture provides a career-focused individual with the opportunity to be a first-choice advisor to middle market leaders. The ideal candidate will help execute our strategy to deliver the RSM client experience, focus on the middle market, empower passionate teams and build communities of RSM promoters through the following responsibilities: Participate in one of RSM’s key industry teams which include: Manufacturing, Wholesale and Distribution, Financial Services, and Construction/Real Estate and, Consumer/Industrial Products. Assist with growing the business by identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients and developing relationships with potential new clients. Serve as a career advisor and mentor to our staff, providing real-time project feedback and quarterly check-ins. Advise clients on nexus, unitary and business income, multistate tax planning, audit defense, and due diligence. Manage complex state tax compliance and consulting projects for corporate and pass-through entities. Deliver excellent service to internal and external clients including effective communication, teamwork, positive attitude, and high professional standards. Continue to expand knowledge base in area of expertise, comply with continuing education requirements.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field from an accredited college or university
- Requires one of the following: CPA, JD, or LLM in Taxation or Enrolled Agent
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience providing income/franchise tax consulting services in a Public Accounting, Consulting, or Law firm
- Strong analytical, problem solving, detail oriented and excellent interpersonal skills
