About The Position

Weaver's State and Local Tax team is looking for an Associate to join their growing team. This team member will gain experience in tax compliance and consulting services specific to State and Local Taxes. State and Local Tax Associates’ primary responsibilities include working on complex indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits), preparing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, and researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and tax implications.
The ideal candidate is a team player who exhibits initiative, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity. A Weaver Associate enjoys flexibility, meaningful client work, and a supportive and innovative work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong Project management skills

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA Candidate, CPA or CMI in progress or complete
• Internship or light experience in public accounting
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Sales & Use Tax, Property Tax, State Income and Franchise Tax

Responsibilities
