Startup Solutions Architect, Early Stage Startups

AmazonBoston, MA
$131,300 - $177,600Onsite

About The Position

We are seeking a Solutions Architect who is passionate about startups and eager to help founders solve complex technical problems during the critical early stages of their company's development. This role requires deep embedding within Boston's vibrant startup ecosystem. Early-stage startups operate with speed and limited resources, making crucial technical decisions that can either enable growth or create future bottlenecks. Many of these companies emerge from top accelerators like Y Combinator or are backed by leading VC firms, and they require a trusted technical advisor. In this position, you will directly engage with early-stage founders across diverse industries such as AI/ML, FinTech, ClimateTech, healthcare, consumer, and B2B SaaS. Your primary goal will be to guide them in making pragmatic architectural decisions that facilitate rapid development while ensuring scalability and stability. You will cultivate lasting relationships with these founders, becoming one of their initial trusted technical voices. This role is not about providing generic solutions. Weekly tasks may involve assisting a first-time founder with architecture before any code is written, helping a seed-stage company scale after an unexpected viral launch, or navigating compliance challenges with a FinTech startup that needs to move quickly without compromising standards. Beyond direct founder engagement, you will have opportunities to maintain and enhance your technical skills. You will advocate for the startups you work with, ensuring that relevant products and features are developed to meet their needs. Additionally, you will share your expertise by creating technical content and presenting at startup and developer events throughout the Boston ecosystem.
