About The Position

The Starts Coordinator at Hunter Quinn Homes is responsible for coordinating all documents required for submitting and obtaining utility and building permits, water taps, and impact fees. This role works closely with division departments and external contacts to ensure all deadlines for building plans and permits are completed on time, playing a critical part in keeping construction starts on schedule.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in permitting, construction administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with municipalities, agencies, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic file management systems.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in document preparation and record keeping.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a professional and solutions-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Apply for permits with respective municipalities and coordinate submittal packages to governmental and quasi-governmental agencies.
  • Gather all necessary information, plans, applications, and documentation required for permit package submittals.
  • Obtain all required permits (building, water, sewer, etc.) prior to the construction start date and distribute the permit start package to the site.
  • Monitor job status through regular reports and maintain accurate, up-to-date timelines for all active jobs.
  • Process and code permit receipts, requisition checks, and coordinate payments and pick-ups with permit expediters.
  • Order site plans and surveys for permit submittals and distribute to field and office associates as needed.
  • Obtain all necessary plan revision approvals and distribute revised plans and paperwork accordingly.
  • Scan and maintain documents (structural calculations, approved basic plans, approved site plans, etc.) and print site copies as needed.
  • Create, manage, and maintain department community files and job folders in both electronic and hardcopy formats.
  • Coordinate septic and well quotes, permitting, and soil testing when applicable.
  • Interface professionally with internal departments, county officials, and municipalities to support permit and compliance activities.
