About The Position

The Start-Up Technician is responsible for the assembly, start-up and testing of complex equipment and systems, performing skilled technical work in the installation maintenance, repairs, of heating, air conditioning and plumbing equipment, controls and distribution systems.

Requirements

3+ years' experience assembling and installing HVAC/Refrigeration equipment/machinery.
EPA Certification.
Plan and specifications reading.
Requires moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
Mechanical aptitude.
Troubleshooting skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Responsibilities

Verifies equipment is assembled according to project guidelines and all test devices are installed properly.
Start-up of hydronic systems including chilled water, heating hot water, domestic hot water, steam systems and associated pumps, reliefs and hydronic accessories.
Startup and diagnostics of HVAC and plumbing equipment.
Tests run equipment and systems, as well as, troubleshoot to verify proper performance.
Contributes to project team success by accomplishing needed results.
Assists temperature controls contractor in verifying system meets project requirements.
Assists in development and training of other team members.
Adhering to project quality control requirements.
Follows safety rules/procedures and avoid known hazards in the work environment.
Reviews safety procedures before beginning each job with known hazards.
Places avoidance of injury or property damage above all other job requirements.
