The Start-Up Technician is responsible for the assembly, start-up and testing of complex equipment and systems, performing skilled technical work in the installation maintenance, repairs, of heating, air conditioning and plumbing equipment, controls and distribution systems.
Requirements
- 3+ years' experience assembling and installing HVAC/Refrigeration equipment/machinery.
- EPA Certification.
- Plan and specifications reading.
- Requires moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Responsibilities
- Verifies equipment is assembled according to project guidelines and all test devices are installed properly.
- Start-up of hydronic systems including chilled water, heating hot water, domestic hot water, steam systems and associated pumps, reliefs and hydronic accessories.
- Startup and diagnostics of HVAC and plumbing equipment.
- Tests run equipment and systems, as well as, troubleshoot to verify proper performance.
- Contributes to project team success by accomplishing needed results.
- Assists temperature controls contractor in verifying system meets project requirements.
- Assists in development and training of other team members.
- Adhering to project quality control requirements.
- Follows safety rules/procedures and avoid known hazards in the work environment.
- Reviews safety procedures before beginning each job with known hazards.
- Places avoidance of injury or property damage above all other job requirements.
