The Start-Up Technician is responsible for the assembly, start-up and testing of complex equipment and systems, performing skilled technical work in the installation maintenance, repairs, of heating, air conditioning and plumbing equipment, controls and distribution systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience assembling and installing HVAC/Refrigeration equipment/machinery.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Plan and specifications reading.
  • Requires moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies equipment is assembled according to project guidelines and all test devices are installed properly.
  • Start-up of hydronic systems including chilled water, heating hot water, domestic hot water, steam systems and associated pumps, reliefs and hydronic accessories.
  • Startup and diagnostics of HVAC and plumbing equipment.
  • Tests run equipment and systems, as well as, troubleshoot to verify proper performance.
  • Contributes to project team success by accomplishing needed results.
  • Assists temperature controls contractor in verifying system meets project requirements.
  • Assists in development and training of other team members.
  • Adhering to project quality control requirements.
  • Follows safety rules/procedures and avoid known hazards in the work environment.
  • Reviews safety procedures before beginning each job with known hazards.
  • Places avoidance of injury or property damage above all other job requirements.
