Starlink Installation Technician
About The Position
As a Southern Star Starlink Technician, you will install and service Starlink satellite internet for homes, particularly in rural and underserved communities. The role includes installing equipment, helping customers get online, and showing them how to use their new service. It offers a progression from Starlink Technician to Senior Technician and Master Technician, with increasing skills, responsibilities, and earning potential. Training pay is $17.00 per hour, with the base rate increasing by $0.50 after 60 days of employment. After training, a guaranteed hourly rate of $20.00 applies through the first nine months. If the post-training base rate plus bonuses and commissions do not reach the guaranteed rate, pay will be increased to meet it. Compensation also includes commissions and performance bonuses. Paid training and ongoing support are provided. The role includes comprehensive insurance benefits, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, a company-paid $25,000 life insurance policy, and a company vehicle after training. A monthly stipend is provided for use of a personal smartphone, and employees receive LifeMart discounts, including savings with home mortgage lenders.
Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 38 feet and work in crawl spaces.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time; lodging and per diem are covered by SSI.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong time-management skills.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Record check.
Responsibilities

- Develop skills and customer-service capabilities, with opportunities to advance to Senior Technician and Master Technician roles.
