This position is responsible for exemplifying and ensuring strong customer service in all aspects of the job. The Starbucks Department Manager directs and controls the operation of the Starbucks kiosk to achieve sales and profit objectives. As a primary contact for customers, the Starbucks Department Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service and is held accountable for the department’s results in providing superior service, increasing sales, improving gain, and containing costs. This role follows division guidelines for the implementation of the merchandising program, changes signs and prices as directed, and is responsible for maintaining appropriate stock and inventory. The manager writes orders in the order guidebook and enters them into the computer, checks orders for completeness upon arrival, and trains, supervises, schedules, and assigns duties to barista clerks. Duties also include brewing coffee and tea, performing various duties to assist in filling customers orders, cleaning and polishing utensils and equipment used in beverage preparation, serving coffee, and operating the cash register to accept payment and make change.
