About The Position

Create the Starbucks experience for Food City shoppers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. The role supports the company mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!” by delivering courteous customer service and consistently preparing products to Starbucks recipe, presentation, safety, and quality standards. The Barista attends on-site work during scheduled shifts and follows company time and attendance policies.

Requirements

Must be 16 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
Ability to maintain daily contact and interaction with individuals at various levels.
Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.

Nice To Haves

Food service or coffee experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide efficient and courteous customer service.
Take customer orders and ensure they are completed promptly and to the customers’ satisfaction.
Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products, rotating items to ensure product quality and safety.
Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward customers and fellow associates.
Engage with customers by offering product information, using suggestive selling techniques, and sampling products.
Process cash register transactions using the POS system.
Provide beverages, whole bean coffee, and food products consistently according to recipe and presentation standards.
Represent Food City and Starbucks with integrity, honesty, and knowledge, promoting their culture, values, and missions.
Operate tools and equipment while following routine and safety procedures.
Follow the company food safety program and food-handling procedures.
Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and adhere to company time and attendance policies.
