About The Position

Create the Starbucks experience for Food City shoppers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. Provide courteous customer service in support of the company mission, take and fulfill customer orders, prepare and stock products, and maintain product quality and safety. Engage with customers, share product information, use suggestive selling techniques, and provide samples. Process transactions using a POS system and consistently prepare beverages, whole bean products, and food items according to recipe and presentation standards. Follow company food-safety and food-handling procedures, operate tools and equipment safely, and attend on-site work during scheduled shifts in accordance with company time and attendance policies.

Requirements

Must be 16 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks and interact regularly with individuals at various levels.
Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts in accordance with company time and attendance policies.
Learn to mix a wide variety of coffee and tea products and learn the ingredients used in various products.
Work with ingredients including coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils.

Nice To Haves

Food service or coffee experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide efficient and courteous customer service.
Take customer orders and ensure they are completed promptly and to customers’ satisfaction.
Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products, rotating items to maintain quality and safety.
Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward customers and fellow associates.
Engage with customers, provide product information, use suggestive selling techniques, and sample products.
Process cash register transactions using a POS system.
Prepare beverages, whole bean products, and food products consistently according to recipe and presentation standards.
Promote the cultures, values, and missions of Food City and Starbucks through integrity, honesty, and product knowledge.
Operate tools and equipment while following routine and safety procedures.
Follow company food-safety and food-handling procedures.
Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and comply with time and attendance policies.
