About The Position

Create the Starbucks experience for Food City shoppers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. The barista takes and fulfills customer orders, prepares Starbucks beverages and products according to recipe and presentation standards, operates a POS system, and helps maintain product quality, food safety, and a positive customer experience. The position requires on-site attendance during scheduled shifts.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
Ability to interact with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and comply with company time and attendance policies.

Nice To Haves

Food service or coffee experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company mission.
Take customer orders and ensure they are completed promptly and to customers’ satisfaction.
Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products, rotating items to maintain quality and safety.
Maintain a positive, friendly attitude toward customers and fellow associates.
Engage with customers, provide product information, use suggestive selling techniques, and sample products.
Process cash register transactions using a POS system.
Prepare quality beverages, whole-bean coffee, and food products in accordance with recipe and presentation standards.
Represent the culture, values, and mission of Food City and Starbucks with integrity, honesty, and knowledge.
Operate tools and equipment while following routine and safety procedures.
Follow company food-safety and food-handling procedures.
Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and comply with company time and attendance policies.
