About The Position

Create the Starbucks experience for Food City shoppers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. The Barista supports Food City's mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!” by serving customers courteously, preparing orders to Starbucks recipe and presentation standards, and following food-safety and equipment procedures. This role requires attending scheduled on-site shifts and engaging positively with customers and fellow associates.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to have constant contact and interaction with individuals at various levels on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and comply with company time and attendance policies.

Nice To Haves

• Food service or coffee experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company mission.
• Take customer orders and ensure they are completed promptly and to customers’ satisfaction.
• Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products, rotating items to maintain product quality and safety.
• Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward customers and fellow associates.
• Engage with customers by providing product information, using suggestive selling techniques, and sampling products.
• Process cash register transactions using the POS system.
• Consistently provide quality beverages, whole-bean coffee, and food products by following recipe and presentation standards.
• Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge in support of Food City and Starbucks culture, values, and mission.
• Operate tools and equipment while following routine and safety procedures.
• Follow company food-safety and food-handling procedures.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and comply with company time and attendance policies.
