About The Position

Create the Starbucks experience for Food City shoppers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. The Barista serves customers, prepares Starbucks beverages and food products according to recipe and presentation standards, and helps maintain product quality, safety, and store cleanliness. The role requires on-site attendance during scheduled shifts and adherence to company time and attendance policies.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks and maintain daily contact and interaction with individuals at various levels.
Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Nice To Haves

Food service or coffee experience is a plus, but is not required.
Ability to learn how to mix a wide variety of coffee and tea products and learn the ingredients used in various products.
Ability to work with Starbucks ingredients, including coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils.

Responsibilities

Provide efficient and courteous customer service in support of the company mission.
Take customer orders and ensure they are completed promptly and to customers’ satisfaction.
Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products, rotating items to maintain quality and safety.
Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward customers and fellow associates.
Engage with customers by providing product information, using suggestive selling techniques, and sampling products.
Process cash register transactions using a POS system.
Consistently provide quality beverages, whole bean coffee, and food products in accordance with recipe and presentation standards.
Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the cultures, values, and missions of Food City and Starbucks.
Operate tools and equipment while following routine and safety procedures.
Follow the company food safety program and food-handling procedures.
Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts and adhere to company time and attendance policies.
