About The Position

The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role includes preparing and presenting food and beverages, maintaining work areas and equipment according to health standards, and following Starbucks service, merchandising, and presentation standards. Schedules depend on business needs and colleague availability, and include weekend shifts.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of prolonged standing and walking, occasional reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping, frequent use of computers and other technology, and frequent lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
Follow company standards and maintain work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
Follow station-specific duties and responsibilities.
Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
Prepare and present products following Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress standards in compliance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department requirements.
Perform other duties as needed.
