About The Position

The Standing Seam Roll-form operator organizes the jobs, uploads them, and creates the panels for each job. They stack these jobs on carts that are preloaded by the Standing Seam crater and pass them down once they are full. They are required to read sales orders and prioritize their daily workload to ensure that all jobs for the current day are completed. As a Team Member at Tri County Metals, you will be involved in Team Member Development, Growth, & Engagement. You will teach and use 6E’s during every customer encounter, follow the Vision Statement, Mission Statement, and Core values, and exemplify our core values “Do Your PART” in everything that you do. You will teach “The TCM Way” by your attitude, your actions, and your words. You will commit to the Standard Operating Procedures and Team Member Handbook 100% of the time and complete your required amount of monthly training. You will follow the Team Member process by participating in monthly one-on-ones, quarterly touch-bases and annual assessments with their lead/leader of their team in which you collaborate to develop and execute a growth plan to “better their lives and increase their value to TCM.” You will implement an improved operating rhythm to drive employee engagement and development, attend the Weekly Level 10 Team Meetings, and participate and receive the required amount of monthly training per Team Member.

Requirements

  • Full and complete understanding of each machine, position, and duty of panel shop.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Able to stand, stretch, bend, kneel, and sit for long periods.
  • Knowledge of basic math, addition, and subtraction.
  • Able to read a tape measure.
  • Able to identify the different colors of metal.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask with accuracy.
  • Ability to learn products and proper installation knowledge.
  • Team focused - Work well with other staff to get the desired results.
  • Service-Oriented - Actively looking for ways to help people and processes.
  • Problem solver, critical thinker, handling multiple issues at the same time.
  • Active listener, communicator, strong people skills and conflict resolution.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds unassisted.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Timely near miss and incident reporting.
  • Ensure Team Member compete 100% OTC of assigned safety training.
  • Engagement measurements: Participation in toolbox conversations, Number of safety observations reported through Bright Idea submissions, Proper PPE is being used at all times, Number of issues addressed via the safety committee.
  • Quickly report accidents and injuries following all safety and emergency procedures. Note all details surrounding these events and report to Team Lead.
  • Keep up on materials needed to complete orders; coil, plastic, printer paper, and/or any other items needed to complete orders.
  • Full and complete understanding of each machine, position and duty of Standing Seam Building.
  • Ability to read production tickets and verify the items and lengths to be produced.
  • Ability to upload cut lists via Eclipse and AMS programs.
  • Able to manually enter cutting instructions into roll former, verifying proper cuts.
  • Understanding Quality Control Standards and notifying management when products are not up to specifications.
  • With a new sales order, verify and inspect coil and machine for correct color, gauge, profile, options (flat, minor rib, striated), and number of crates needed to complete each job.
  • If the order is an add-on for an existing order, ensure that the color/spangle, gauge, options (flat, minor rib, striated), and vendor match that previous order.
  • Identify if multiple people are needed to handle the panels onsite.
  • Operator plus One - 20’ or less
  • Operator plus Two – 20’1” to 39’11”
  • Operator plus Three – 40’ to 59’11”
  • Complete all orders by the scheduled completion time.
  • Ensure all orders are quality controlled check with our Quality Assurance process applied.
