The Standards and Governance Specialist I is an established technical individual contributor who works on problems of moderate scope with general supervision. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements.
  • Applies working knowledge within a defined technical area to complete semi-routine assignments and support consistent execution.
  • Uses sound judgment within established procedures to prioritize work, identify issues, and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Evaluates moderate-scope issues and recommends practical solutions within defined parameters.
  • Builds productive working relationships and communicates effectively with stakeholders within the department and function.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and assistance to less experienced team members as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting governance, compliance, audit, privacy, risk, or policy administration activities in a professional setting.
  • Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance platforms or other systems used to track controls, issues, or remediation activities.
  • Relevant foundational certification or coursework related to compliance, privacy, risk, audit, or information governance.

Responsibilities

  • Support governance and standards projects of moderate scope by completing assigned deliverables, maintaining timelines, and supporting implementation activities.
  • Apply established policies, procedures, controls, and governance requirements to operational activities and recurring reporting processes.
  • Monitor assigned controls, obligations, or standards requirements and document evidence of completion, exceptions, and follow-up actions.
  • Recognize risks, gaps, or inconsistencies that may affect operational, compliance, or schedule outcomes and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Draft, revise, and maintain process documentation, control descriptions, standards references, and related governance materials.
  • Partner with team members and operational stakeholders to gather information, clarify requirements, and track action items to completion.
  • Coordinate smaller work efforts and provide day-to-day support to less experienced team members as needed.
