DPT Standardized Patient

Harrisburg University•Harrisburg, PA
•$0 - $50•Onsite

About The Position

Harrisburg University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is hiring Standardized Patients (SPs) to help train future physical therapists. SPs are trained to portray a real patient case in a consistent, repeatable way. DPT students interview and examine SPs and work through treatment plans as they would with actual patients. This is a casual, as-needed position. Work is scheduled in four-hour shifts tied to lab sessions and student assessments. Shifts are not recurring, and SPs can accept assignments that fit their availability. All sessions are supervised by DPT faculty. Every SP completes standardized orientation and training before the first shift and receives case-specific preparation before each assignment. SPs are briefed on potential risks and asked to sign a consent form before participating in lab activities; they may decline to participate at any time. SP performance is reviewed annually. The position pays $50.00 per hour. Shifts take place on the Harrisburg campus at 222 Chestnut Street, with dates following the DPT academic calendar. SPs are notified of opportunities as they arise. Harrisburg University is an equal opportunity employer.
