Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
• Hold a valid Virginia State teaching certificate (or equivalent from another state) OR Currently enrolled in a teacher certification program OR Have 2+ years of experience teaching in a private, public, or charter school OR Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited U.S. college or university OR Are a Master’s or PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at a U.S. university or college.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support based on expertise and alignment with Virginia’s curriculum standards.
• Design and deliver customized tutoring sessions in a variety of subjects.
• Offer remedial or enrichment instruction based on each student’s needs.
• Assign supplemental materials to enhance understanding and retention.
• Maintain open communication with parents/guardians to report on student progress and goals.
