About The Position
Prep Academy Tutors is a private in-home tutoring company providing educational support across subjects and age groups. The SAT/ACT Test Prep Tutor supports students according to the Florida curriculum, creates customized learning plans focused on understanding rather than memorization, and offers remedial or enrichment instruction based on student needs. Tutors collaborate with parents to communicate student progress, challenges, and successes. The role offers flexible scheduling, autonomy over schedule and student load, professional development, and a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Be an energetic, enthusiastic, driven, compassionate educator committed to student success and excellence.
- Meet at least one of the following criteria: hold current, valid registration with the Florida Department of Education; be a qualified teacher in the United States or in the process of becoming one; be a current teacher candidate pursuing a Bachelor of Education; or have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited U.S. or Canadian university.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic support based on the Florida curriculum.
- Develop customized learning plans that help students understand material rather than simply memorize it.
- Provide remedial instruction and enrichment opportunities according to students’ needs.
- Collaborate with parents to communicate student progress, struggles, and successes.
