Stand-up Forklift Operator

About The Position

The Stand-up Forklift Operator keeps production supplied by retrieving materials and supplies and operating a forklift. The role plans material needs based on production schedules, delivers supplies to production areas, maintains inventory, moves finished and empty pallets, and documents the movement of goods. The operator also helps maintain a safe work environment and keeps the forklift in operating condition.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience.
Forklift certification.
Skills in safety management, documentation, equipment maintenance, inventory control, dependability, coordination, organization, productivity, and data entry.

Responsibilities

Plan supply and material requirements by reviewing production schedules and scheduling deliveries to production areas.
Retrieve supplies and materials by reviewing specifications, locating and verifying items, securing pallets on the truck, and moving pallets to production locations.
Maintain inventory in the production area by anticipating and tracking usage.
Monitor inventory and report discrepancies.
Clear production areas by securing and moving finished pallets and moving empty pallets.
Document actions by logging the movement of supplies, materials, and finished goods.
Maintain a safe work environment by watching for foot traffic, following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
Keep the forklift operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Complete related duties as needed to support warehousing and organization.
