About The Position

The Stand General Manager plays a key part in supporting the stand’s growth, profitable operation, and the preservation of Flynn 7 Brew’s culture, mission statement, and values. The position is responsible for leading their crew, maintaining genuine connections with them and managing the unique nuances of business at their stand(s).

  • Ability to stand and exert mobility and agility in a fast-paced environment for up to ten (10) hours in length
  • Ability to engage in frequent overhead reaching, bending, squatting and stooping
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English to employees, guests, vendors, and visitors
  • Ability to safely operate blenders, frozen drink machines and other stand equipment
  • Safely work indoors and outdoors. Frequent and prolonged exposure to a sub-40 degree (F) environment
  • Ability to safely transport, push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds repetitively throughout a shift
  • Ability to safely reach high and low shelves
  • Ability to safely respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others
  • Must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
  • Ability to safely work in environment that includes wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noise
  • Can effectively lead and direct multiple personality types under pressure
  • Collaborative approach to teamwork and leadership
  • Can create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with strangers
  • Can work carefully and quickly with hot water and coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products

  • Can safely walk in between and around cars in the drive thru line

  • Can quickly and cleanly operate any position in the stand to help train and redirect the team as needed
  • Can maintain awareness of the shift’s operations while working a position
  • Can assertively and graciously confront all employees to address operational, procedural, or cultural issues
  • Can adapt to problems and implement solutions during stressful situations
  • Effectively manages multiple projects and deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Maintains excellent wait times, cleanliness, and customer interactions through training, coaching, and encouragement
  • Ensures prompt, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit on customer feedback reports
  • Provides regular feedback to each crew member on strengths and areas of growth
  • Works with their crew’s needs and availability to create a weekly shift schedule, maintaining a low cost of labor while ensuring quick wait times and short lines
  • Tracks and orders necessary inventory, small wares, parts, and equipment, while maintaining a low cost of goods sold through eliminating waste and accurate counting
  • Ensures appropriate cash handling, deposits, and change for their stand
  • Facilitates team bonding and development through regular meetings and events for their Shift Leads and Brewistas, in both one-on-one and group contexts
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and inspire team members

  • Takes ownership of solutions, whether through solving the problem themselves or looping in an approved partner or vendor
  • Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff

  • Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meets company standards, utilizing line checks to Flynn 7 Brew standards
  • Effectively oversees/schedules employees to meet sales demands and adjusts par levels when needed
  • Ensures correct staffing levels, utilizing thorough interviews and company guidelines for proper selection of employees, based on competency identification
  • Maintains effective safety and security programs according to company policy and government standards and corrects unsafe practices or conditions
  • Promotes and manages restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation to comply with Ecosure and Health Department standards
  • Performs routine maintenance and immediately informs Area Director of needed repairs
  • Institutes preventive maintenance and needed repairs of building and all equipment
  • Advises Area Director of any non-routine situations
  • Communicates with other managers through management log and shift change meetings daily, and weekly through manager meetings
  • Ensures quality recruitment and referrals of potential Brewistas and management candidates
  • Ensures the constant development of employees through consistent heart-checks, one-on-one meetings and performance reviews, assessing the effectiveness of employees, providing candid, fair feedback and continuously working with employees on their areas of development
  • Partner with Area Director and Human Resources when additional staffing support is needed
  • Ensures acceptable employee performance and documents situations that require or could lead to disciplinary or corrective actions, involving the Area Director and Human Resources when investigations need to take place
  • Responsible for controlling cost in the stand by closing and managing the Profit and Loss statement on a period-by-period basis
  • Arrives on time for each scheduled shift and work throughout the shift (aside from legally required breaks) per the schedule and stand demands
  • Follows company procedure for communicating time off requests
  • Ability to give appropriate notice for any need to deviate - in any way - from one's scheduled shift.
  • Visits the stand outside of scheduled shifts to coach, observe, train, and perform administrative duties
  • Completes all other assigned duties and responsibilities
